When a Jedi is deployed on a mission during the Clone Wars, he or she often brought along some clone troopers to provide backup, secure extraction zones, and so forth. Any time clone troopers were assigned to escort Jedi in the field, a clone commander always accompanied them. While this practice may have freed the Jedi from having to coordinate the actions of regular infantry in support roles, it had deadly consequences when Order 66 was issued.

This small task force is appropriate for diplomatic missions and small-scale infiltration of Separatist facilities and strongholds, usually for purposes of intelligence gathering, hostile extraction, or friendly extraction. (For battlefield situations, a heavier task force is more common.) If encountered after Order 66 is issued, the Jedi Knight may be found trying to evade his suddenly treasonous clone troopers.
