Obi-Wan Kenobi: This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or as random as a blaster, but an elegant weapon for a more civilized age. For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times, before the Empire. -- Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope Admit it: You want one of these. Especially if you play a Jedi character in your game. This set is fully customizable, allowing for over 700 possible combinations by choosing different pieces to assemble your lightsaber: - 3 pommels
- 3 handles
- 3 center bands
- 3 front bodies
- 3 emitters
- 3 different blade colors (red/blue/green)
Like other FX lightsabers, it produces authentic sound effects: a power-up and power-down noise, the characteristic hum when the blade is on, and varying clash effects when you tap the saber against another object. Its LED has a gradual power-up that allows the light to slowly extends from the hilt to the tip of the blade, simulating the way a lightsaber emerges from its hilt in the movies. (It is a smoother and more gradual effect than the sequenced LEDs used in non-customizable FX lightsabers.) Because Master Replicas no longer has the license to create Star Wars replicas, this is a collector's item that is increasingly difficult to find. (Given its out-of-print status and list price of $119.99, it can be hard to find at a good price.) To see a short demo of how the lightsaber works, take a look at this YouTube video.
