I'd add an introduction video (this makes a huge difference) and make sure you engage with backers and online communities whenever possible (e.g. Facebook, Google Plus, Twitter, message boards, etc.).

I would also consider adding some more interactive options as backer rewards, such as the option to contribute an article or chapter to the book, seeing early drafts to provide feedback, etc. This helps backers feel invested early on and makes them more likely to make pledges, increase pledges, and promote the project to others.

Other than that, you seem to have a relatively good set-up -- just focus on getting the word out and making your initial pitch (in a short video & the first paragraph of text) hit the major selling points right away.

Hope this helps!

Great post about Kickstarter...only wish I would have read it a few weeks ago. As it is, I kind of "winged it" and have a project for a "how to" book for writers-- how to get started, where to find work, building a brand, self-publishing, etc.. Would love it if you would check it out and give me some feedback on the way it is set up...good or bad. Thanks, Denise

I wanted you to know that I understand what you went through.

I have Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder. I understand how all-consuming it gets. I've been so low that I've failed out of an entire semester of college and was unable to go back for over a year. I struggle with my issues every day. I've gotten help and am supposedly now better equipped to deal with them, but that doesn't make it easy or even doable some days.

I'm very glad you got back on track. I feel like I want to say more, but I feel like I can't put the words together as well as I'd like.

So from one struggling creative soul to another, Keep on Swimming.

Looking forward to seeing this reposted. They were both (Cargo and Planet generator) immensely helpful in my last campaign. Hoping to be able to reuse them when the campaign restarts again :)
