By popular request, I’ve added a system that makes it possible for you to (1) see out of stock items and (2) receive a notification when that item is back in stock. In addition, I’ve updated the “Categories” box to make site navigation a bit easier. Details after the jump!

Out-of-stock items and notifications

See an item you want, but it’s out of stock? Just click the “Email me when back in stock” link, and you’ll get notifications about updates to that item. (This is the same as the normal product update notification, so you don’t need to do it twice for an item to which you’ve already subscribed.)

If you ever want to cease receiving notifications for an item, just log in and click on “My Account” (on the right side of the menu bar near the top of the screen). Once you log in, you can scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Email Notifications section, then click on “View or change my product notification list” to change the notification list.

Update to Categories Navigation

This is primarily a cosmetic change, but I think it makes it easier to navigate the site:

• Categories that have subcategories within them are listed in bold. This gives you a quick visual cue for a category so that you know there is a little there to explore.
• Categories whose items are all out of stock are listed in italics. (This is to save you the trouble of clicking on an area that doesn’t currently have anything on sale; if you just want to browse out-of-stock items, of course, feel free!)
• The category (and subcategory, if applicable) that you’re currently browsing is listed in red. Again, this is intended to help you browse without forgetting what areas you’ve previously explored and which you haven’t seen because you can easily tell where you are in the parent category.
